Evaluation of NeQuick2 Model over Mid-Latitudes of Northern Hemisphere

چکیده

NeQuick2 is a three-dimensional ionospheric electron density empirical model that uses numerical integration to calculate the total content along any line-of-sight (LOS). As one of most commonly used models, it necessary objectively evaluate accuracy and stability over long period, especially mid-latitudes northern hemisphere where ground-based GNSS stations are distributed. Therefore, different methods in this study from 2008 2021, including comparison with International Global Navigation Satellite System Ionosphere Maps (IGSG), Jason2 Vertical Electron (VTEC), self-consistent evaluation. The IGSG shows standard deviation (STD) value about 2.59 TECU. ocean regions bias more significant than model. mean STD 2.09 TECU for IGSG, corresponding 3.18 model, which 50% worse IGSG. dSTEC assessment results indicate variation stable 0.86 1.52 respectively. conclusion could be made represents average ionosphere its fluctuates solar conditions. Compared always underestimates TEC value, low activity periods compared Jason2, values obtained by overestimated, but degree overestimation smaller

Precipitation Mediates the Response of Carbon Cycle to Rising Temperature in the Mid-to-High Latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere

Over the past decades, rising air temperature has been accompanied by changes in precipitation. Despite relatively robust literature on the temperature sensitivity of carbon cycle at continental to global scales, less is known about the way this sensitivity is affected by precipitation. In this study we investigate how precipitation mediates the response of the carbon cycle to warming over the ...

Origin of martian northern hemisphere mid-latitude lobate debris aprons

Lobate debris aprons in the martian midto high-latitudes (northern and southern hemispheres) have been interpreted as ice-related features that indicate periglacial climate conditions as recently as late Amazonian. Using MOLA topographic profiles perpendicular to apron flow fronts, we surveyed 36 debris aprons in the northern hemisphere found in the regions of Mareotis, Protonilus, and Deuteron...

Carnivores in Northern Latitudes

The first mammals were probably nocturnal (McNab 1978; Kemp 1982) and many extant orders of small mammals have retained this trait. This behaviour is presumably due to the measure of protection from predation that darkness provides (Crawford 1934; Falls 1968; Daan and Aschoff 1982). Large, herbivorous mammals are less restricted to the nocturnal phase (e.g. Bunnell and Harestad 1990) and have b...
